Director of Religious School

Neil Spindel is the founding director of the Brandon Jewish Youth Academy and a dedicated lay leader at Congregation Beth Shalom of Brandon. With a deep commitment to revitalizing Jewish education in the Brandon area, Neil brings decades of experience in synagogue life, Jewish youth groups, and Jewish learning to his role.

After earning his undergraduate degree from Brandeis University and a master’s in computer science from Brooklyn College, Neil spent much of his career in data and technology leadership, while remaining deeply involved in Jewish communal life. He has served as a Torah reader, service leader, and adult educator, and currently oversees Hebrew instruction and B’nai Mitzvah preparation at CBS.

Neil’s vision for BJYA is rooted in a belief that Jewish education should be modern, meaningful, and memorable — connecting tradition with creativity and Torah with real life. He is also leading the development of a full five-course curriculum for the school and beyond, using innovative teaching methods and technology.
